Introduction
Birgit Verwer's work consists of an amalgamation of found materials; some by chance, some by perseverance and others by what she describes as 'serendipity'. All appropriated to produce the fundamental atmosphere of her work; a cocktail of religion, politics, philosophy, humor and banality. Her catholic upbringing combined with her vivid memories of the decor from dutch tv game shows of the 1980's inform her captivating and distinctive style.

Education
Royal Academy of Art [KABK], Fine Arts, The Hague, The Netherlands
