Mark Brusse

Inhoudelijk wordt het werk van Mark Brusse vaak omschreven als poëtisch. Het land Japan heeft voor hem een grote rol betekend. In 1983 verblijft hij daar voor drie maanden. In een relatief korte periode komen de tekeningen en collages, die reeds in de jaren daarvoor een belangrijke rol in zijn werk waren gaan spelen, tot een hoogtepunt. In tegenstelling tot de Parijse tekeningen en collages, stralen de werken gemaakt in Japan grote rust uit; de composities zijn sober, evenals de gebruikte materialen. Daarna volgde zijn pad naar Korea, waarna bij terugkeer rond 1990 een omvangrijke reeks grootformaat werken op speciaal Koreaans papier ontstonden waarin de totale ontwikkeling van de laatste 30 jaar samenkomt.
