Hugo Tieleman nominated for Royal Award for Painting 2014
Hugo Tieleman is nominated again for the Royal Award for Painting with his painting Mining Site 1, 2014. The award will be presented by His Majesty the King on 10 Ocotber 2014. Works by all winners and nominees will be on view at the Royal Palace Amsterdam as of Saturday 11 October 2014.
The Royal Award is annually presented to encourage talented young painters active in the Netherlands.
The Award was instituted in 1871 by H.M. King William III. After King William III it was continued by Queen Emma, Queen Wilhelmina, Queen Juliana and Queen Beatrix. They turned this into a true royal tradition. King Willem-Alexander continued this tradition by presenting the Royal Award 2013 on the 4th October in the Royal Palace Amsterdam.
Hugo Tieleman has now been nominated four times, and was two times winner of the publiv price, awarded by the visitors to the exhibition.
