ALBRECHT GENIN - OCEAN STORIES
Albrecht Genin - Ocean Stories
Albrecht Genin has developed an impressive oeuvre, working in his studios in Berlin, Germany and Nong Khai, Thailand. He unconsciously played an important role in the development of the contemporary expressionist movement of the eighties. At a distance from these movements, museums, art critics and galleries he translated the absurd reality into a livable fantasy.
From the beginning, Genin chose to paint with oil paint on printed surfaces such as bibles, law books, maps, sheet music and math tables but his drawings in ink on old handwritten manuscripts, letters and documents have a special added value. These works are almost a visualisation of the lives which you could read between the lines.
This publication focusses mainly on this part of his oeuvre.
